Cryogenic processing originally developed for aerospace & defense applications, has been used for over 30 years to improve the properties of the material. Many fantastic claims have been made as to the degree of improved performance achieved by Cryogenic Processing. The wear resistance can be improved by factors of two, three or ten compared to traditional heat treatment. Other claims are improved dimensional stability, increased hardness or shifts in resonant vibrational frequency of cryogenically treated material.
